Hi, my name is Amber and I have Type 1 Diabetes. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in November of 1995, I was 3 years old. My mom took me to the hospital and I had to stay for a week. From Friday until Monday I was in the intensive care unit, then from Monday until Friday I was sent to the pediactric ward. It was a very scary time for my whole family. We knew nothing about Diabetes. It seems like a long time ago, but I'm reminded of it every day when I have to check my blood and give my shots. Getting 3 to 5 shots every day and poking my fingers to check my blood 5 to 8 times a day isn't very fun. That's why we work hard all year long to raise money to help find a cure. Please help us find a cure for diabetes by making a donation to the American Diabetes Association on our behalf or in honor or memory of someone else you know with Diabetes.
